Panton was one of the first of the Scandinavians to break radically with the nordic tradition of working with solid woods. Panton has an aptitude for adopting unusual colors and materials for furniture and everyday objects. The Wire Cone chair was a visual enigma, like the 'Heart Chair', pivoting on the base at what seems to be a single point. This wire chair is a part of the famous cone series.
