I have wanted something like this for so long, that I even started designing one.
The basic problem being solved is that I have so many gadgets and small items with me when I travel that they end up in a big tangled mess at the bottom of my backpack. There is no equivalent of the old photographic bags with adjustable velcro compartments and custom pouches become obsolete as we buy new devices like iphones. Think how many systems are built for iPods.
Grid-it's approach is simple but ergonomic – a platter with a basket weave grid of elastic straps allowing you to store anything.
