"Dutch designer Sander Bokkinga presented Bok, a collection of furniture made from hosepipes at 100% Design London last weekend.
The water can still run through the furniture, which can be used indoors and outdoors.

A furniture serie made of old and new hosepipes for interior and exterior use. Amazingly, water can still run through the designs. The serie currently includes a floorlamp, a relax-chair, a dining chair, a stool in two sizes and a vase. Designed by Sander Bokkinga in 2008." added on 2008-09-24

"Tie Fan of WE Design collective presented a conceptual design for an inflatable emergency shelter at the Alan Baxter gallery in London earlier this month.

The design consists of a double-walled tent, which is inflated and kept rigid by a solar-powered fan.

The tents would be erected vertically for use as a shelter or upside-down to form a water collector. The tents could be linked to make larger units, such as medical or community centres.

SWAS tent is an inflatable structure for shelter, water storage, natural ventilation (air) and solar energy collector. The structure is easy to transport to the disaster site. A quiet fan keeps the tent inflated as long as needed. The structure is installed in less than five minutes and can be folded up in the accompanying bag when deflated." added on 2008-09-19

"While the Dutch Oven has nasty connotations, the DutchTub does not. The latter (designed by Floris Schoonderbeek) is a no-electricity-required outdoor hot tub, made out of wood and heated by a plain old fire:

After filling the tub with water, a fire can be started in the attached basket to kick start the heating process. The hot water starts to rise in the spiral, which automatically starts pouring in through the spiral, and begins circulating from the bottom to the top.

With a heating time of 2.5 hours, the DutchTub is not for the spontaneous; then again, 'going Dutch' is not for the romantic, but people still do it. " added on 2008-09-17
