"Rotterdam-based designer Reinier de Jong has designed an extending bookcase.

Called REK, the bookcase consists of five parts, which slide out to accommodate books in the resulting voids as the user accumulates them.

Information from the designer:

The zigzag shaped parts slide in and out of each other, providing as much space as needed. With REK there will be no silly sights of half an empty bookcase anymore because REK will always be full. Also with the different spaces that appear you can arrange your books according to their size.
The outside of REK is finished with white high gloss laminate. The inside is finished with another type of laminate, in this case warm grey satin." added on 2008-12-04

STACK is a modular furniture system that is reduced to just one element. The elements are stacked and stuck together with industrial velcros.

There are no borders in the variety of combinations,when stacking the STACK. Comparable with the well known Lego, you can build your own world as you like. Stool table, shelf and arm-chair are just examples. The "C" form makes it possible.

"Mondrian hated green colour. He thought it was too obvious connection to nature which didn't go with De Stijl's theories about decomposating nature into "pure colours and forms".

With De Stijl theory in mind I decided to make some sort of a 3D painting that could also be a shelf system.

Then I did a little experiment. I painted the shelves in green tones. Mondrian was right. My square De Stijl-shelf had turned into a crown of a tree!

Tree can store all sorts of small objects and you can even hide them in the 'leaves'. added on 2008-11-28

"Confetti is a versatile shelf system that allows the user to arrange and rearrange the 4-colour tiles into a multitude of patterns to create a unique look. As we are in Paris for a month, we will check this out!

Last Christmas is a shop/exhibition by belgian collector Bert Houbert.
This is the second edition of his project. The first edition was called METAL which was a collection of his metal objects earlier this year.
