"These custom turntables are the handiwork of Oakland, California-based woodworker Joe Scilley who previously was an interior renovator in the San Francisco Bay Area but has now turned his skills to audiocraft.

A house in which even the table, the chairs and the bed seem to have been made of pages and bound covers.

Livio De Marchi was born in Venezia where, still a child, he worked on ornamental sculpture in the Venetian tradition in the workshop of a crafting and in the meantime he studied art and drawing at the "Accademia di Belle Arti" in Venice.

Stave Side Chair designed by Christian Elverhoi Thomassen, a design student at Norway's Oslo National Academy of the Arts.

" Stave's character is the result of the encounter between the homogeneous framework of its back and sides on the one hand, and the eclectic seat composed of scrap pieces of wood on the other. The framework gives the chair a look of uniformity, while the seat makes each individual chair unique and gives it personality - a personality that might make you think of barcodes or a pile of macaroons, or that can even awaken feelings of national identity."

"Dutch furniture designer Eek, 39, first gained notoriety in 1990 with his Scrap Wood Cupboards. He works bits of found wood and salvaged materials into intricately patchworked one-of-a kind chests, dining tables, chairs, sofas and even cribs. The thinking behind his work is partly a desire to rescue these discarded pieces of wood but also to escape the soullessness of mass production. He celebrates the textures of recycled materials, turning them into something chic rather than scrappy."
